Susan Young runs her own business providing training on income tax, capital gains tax, GST and FBT issues. Previously she was the National Tax Director for two major accounting firms based in Sydney and then Brisbane.

With over 20 years of specialized tax knowledge, Susan has extensive experience as a presenter and adviser on taxation issues. Her clients include KPMG and William Buck, and she is often asked to present at seminars organised by the TIA, NIA and CPAs. She is also currently contracted to the ICAA to present ICAA seminars and provide training to ICAA clients.

Susan has an interactive style that encourages participation and the asking of questions.

In 2003 Susan had a book published by Penguin titled “Tax for the Very Small Business”. It is a road map to navigating the tax system for small business operators. It offers step-by-step examples and practical suggestions for:

• Setting up a new business in a tax-effective way
  
  
• Managing the GST, Fringe Benefits Tax and other tax obligations
  
  
• Filling in the BAS
  
  
• Getting the information you need from the ATO; and
  
  
• Working out what to do when you’ve made a mistake.

Susan has degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of QLD and the University of Sydney and is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of QLD.
